Is Fall the Best Season for Planters and Decor?

Although it's only mid-August, we are already feeling the heat pressure of summer taper off in anticipation of the gloriously golden days of fall. Planters from May are starting to show some weariness and fading from smiling at the sun for so long. Behold the Fall Planter, just in time to continue to dazzle us with the amazing colors and textures that we have been appreciating but maybe could use a little glow-up.

The choices for Fall are deeper, more burnished colors that mimic the famous fall foliage in New England. As our landscapes have transitioned into the patina of gold, russet, and burgundy so should our pocket "landscapes" of planters and bed edges.

For height we suggest using decorative grasses or tree and shrub branches which lend an architectural inspiration to your planter. There are many flowering plants that showcase in fall including rudbeckia, chrysanthemum, asters, late blooming dahlias and even some pansies. If your taste doesn't trend towards the traditional fall colors, you can utilize greens and whites just as readily as in summer but with a "vintage" hue.

Hydrangea and other staple plants of the landscape can be planted for your summer rotation and then accented with fall touches and decors to embrace the change in season.

Finally, don't skimp on the whimsy! Fall offers multiple themes to decorate your planters around. You can choose Harvest or Halloween, tones of orange or Pumpkin Latte. The opulence of a giant pumpkin spill has been a trend in recent seasons and we say "Go for it!" the bigger, and more lush, the better!
